Leaving Certificate Applied (2 years)

Leaving Certificate Applied is run over 2 years, LCA1 and LCA2. This leaving cert is awarded on a continuous assessment basis.

One third for the work done on a day to day basis.
One third for the tasks that are marked by external examiners during the two years.
One third for the final exams at the end of second year.

There is much more of a practical element to this programme and also the opportunity to work in teams and on group projects. During the two years all students are interviewed about their work by external examiners.

There is also work experience involved in both years giving students the opportunity to sample the areas of work they think they would like to pursue when finished school.
